Help the SCBarCar 'Stuff the Bus' twice a year!!
Proceeds Benefit the 'Yo Art Project' in Charleston SC!!
 

As a way to give back to the community, in both the Fall and the Spring Semesters, SC Bar Car.com has started a new fundraiser. Its a simple idea that returns amazing results! 'Stuff the Bus' targets local artists attending school in some of Charleston's less funded districts. Through the 'Yo Art Project' we are able to make sure that all of the art supplies collected are distributed to the kids that need them the most. The 'Yo Art Project was founded by Gene Furchgott in order to teach children media arts which will better enable them to handle both their academic studies and life’s challenges. The emphasis is on one to one mentoring that helps the boys and girls to see and understand the unlimited opportunities that are available beyond the bounds of their local neighborhoods and establish goals that they can strive to achieve. The Yo Art Project is  partnering with the Charleston County School District and works in seven Title One schools. 

NAHRO, National Association of Housing and Redevelopment
Officials recognized Yo Art  for its innovative creative after school
programming. In 2009 only two non profits  were awarded this honor in  South
Carolina.

Nickelodeon awarded Yo Art in 2010 with “The Big Green Help”
grant for its education in environmental stewardship with its children  through
the arts.
