CHUCKTOWN SQUASH!!!
What's this all about? Its an inner city organization with a mission.
The SC Bar Car provides transportation for these little guys 5 days a week, after school, taking Chucktown Squash’s mission is to promote academic excellence, positive personal development and a healthy lifestyle to Charleston’s urban youth using the sport of squash. Through participation in our on- and off- court curriculum, young people will access life-changing opportunities in which they can excel as scholar athletes and community members.

What responsibilities it takes to be on a team, make team captain and show leadership amongst their peers. Also, discipline, the importance of school, being on time, working hard and striving to be a leader not just on the courts, but in their classrooms and in their community.
SC Bar Car started working with these kids in 2010, their first year as an organization. Thinking this would be a very easy way to give back to the Charleston community, we jumped on board and will continue to support them for years to come. In only the first year it was obvious that each team member's passion grew not only with their new sport, but with their grades and over all attitude towards life. So far it has been a very rewarding way to watch our inner city elementary kids grow and we look forward to maintaining our relationships and eventually maybe even taking them to the prom in the SC Bar Car one day! Ha... now that's farming. ;)

Chucktown Squash always needs high-energy volunteers to assist on the squash
court as coaches, and in the classroom as tutors. For days and times, please click

HOW KIDS CAN TRY OUT?
Chucktown Squash hosts try-outs in the fall and will select students that
demonstrate a year-round commitment to improving their academics, have strong
family support at home, and are craving the challenge and the opportunity to
excel as scholar athletes. To try-out, please call Coach Lynnie: 843-408-1406
